Can dogs recognize the new crown pneumonia virus?
The Veterinary University of Hannover, Germany recently stated that the two sniffer dogs they trained can identify patients infected with the new coronavirus with an accuracy of 94%. Before the training, the two dogs were mine-detecting dogs and corpse-hunting dogs. The staff who trained them said that the virus causes the infected cells to release a substance different from the healthy cells, and the trained dogs can distinguish the smell of this substance and inform people.
ps: Don't worry, friends, there are no cases of dogs infected with the new crown virus. However, they may become virus carriers, and their hair will be contaminated. Hope to have strict disinfection measures.
