The magnitude of the Fukushima earthquake in Japan has been revised to 7.3, causing 124 injuries

 China News Service, Tokyo, February 14 (Reporter Lu Shaowei) On the 14th local time, the Japan Meteorological Agency revised the magnitude of the earthquake that occurred in the sea off Fukushima on the evening of the 13th from 7.1 to 7.3, and the focal depth was revised to 55 kilometers.  According to statistics from the Japan Broadcasting Association (NHK), 124 people have been injured in the earthquake.

 Among them, 66 people were injured in Fukushima Prefecture and 45 people in Miyagi Prefecture.


 On February 14, local time, in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, the outer wall of a building collapsed due to a strong earthquake, and debris was scattered on the ground.

 The largest seismic intensity of this earthquake is "6 strong", according to the seismic intensity classification method set by the Japan Meteorological Agency, it is divided into 10 levels from weak to strong, the strongest is "7", followed by the "6 strong".  As of 12 o'clock in the morning on the 14th, the Meteorological Agency has observed 20 earthquakes with intensity 1, 6 earthquakes with intensity 2, and 2 earthquakes with intensity 3.  The Meteorological Agency stated that strong earthquakes may still occur in the past two or three days or even a week later, reminding residents to pay attention to safety.

 The Meteorological Agency stated that this earthquake is a strong earthquake with a magnitude of “6 strong” once again observed in Fukushima Prefecture since the “March 11” earthquake in 2011.  Many people also said that the earthquake was the strongest in 10 years.  There are also many photos and videos taken by residents of Fukushima when the earthquake occurred on social networks. The screens showed that houses were shaking violently at the time, objects fell to the ground, and the houses were full of mess.

 Affected by the earthquake, more than 800,000 households had power outages, but power was basically restored at 6 am on the 14th.

 According to NHK reports, the nuclear fuel cooling water of Unit 1 of the Fukushima No. 2 Nuclear Power Plant has a slight leak, but the radiation dose is said to be very low.  According to news from the Japan Nuclear Power Regulatory Agency, no abnormalities were found in other nuclear power plants.

 At 23:8 on the 13th local time, an earthquake of magnitude 7.1 (tentative value) occurred offshore in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.
